Jonathan's replied almost instantly, "With a man?"

Realizing how inappropriate his question was, he regretted it immediately, but the message had already been sent.

Bethany responded, “Yes. Why?"

Jonathan couldn't believe her response.

His temples throbbed with a jolting pain.

She didn't seem to have learned anything from her lesson and was meeting another man at a restaurant.

Frustrated, Jonathan decided to be upfront with Brody and called him.

"Find out which restaurant Bethany is at!"

"She is in Brokdon?"

"Yes."

Suddenly, everything clicked for Brody.

His boss's recent strange behavior made sense. It was all because of Bethany.

“I'll check right away," Brody said.

Back at the restaurant, Bethany glanced at her phone for the third time.

The driver had vanished after asking his question.

His question about her business partner's gender nagged at her. Could he have seen her?

She looked around but didn't spot anyone familiar.

“Ms. Holt?" Brenden broke into her thoughts by refilling her glass.

"Apologies, but my tolerance for alcohol isn't great. After just one drink, I'm already feeling a bit tipsy," Bethany explained with a warm smile.

Jaden quickly reached for the glass. "If that's the case, I'll have it for you."

“I'm trying to build rapport with Ms. Holt. And who are you?"

Brenden's expression grew serious.

Not wanting to create any tension with Owlimited Company's team on her first day, Bethany lifted her glass and said, "Please don't be upset. He's just concerned that I'll have a headache tomorrow if I drink too much. They usually take good care of me at the office. Don't take it personally. Let me cover this drink."
