Chapter: 450
"Ouch!"
Bethany attempted to sit up, but her arms shook.
Bethany puzzled over her condition.
She got the hangover since she had drunk too much last night. But why was she so sore? It was like she had been in a brawl.
After regaining some composure, Bethany scanned the room.
This wasn't her hotel room.
She felt a sinking sensation in her chest as she thought through all the possibilities, especially when she realized her clothes had been changed. They weren't the ones she had on yesterday.
Then, a knock came from the door.
Bethany quickly tidied her appearance and shakily stood to answer it.
"Hello, would you like to have your breakfast now?" asked a hotel staff member.
Bethany asked, "Where am I? How did I end up here?"
The employee responded with a smile, “You were brought here by a friend."
Bethany asked, “A man?"
"Yes."
Bethany's grip tightened as she feared what might have happened.
The employee added, “Oh, and he said to offer you breakfast when you woke up. If you asked, we were to inform you that he's the driver you met in Westsilver."
"The driver in Westsilver?"
"Yes."
Bethany paused, faintly remembering a voicemail from him saying he'd come to pick her up.
Was he the one who brought her here?
She turned to check her phone but found it was out of power.
Bethany requested, "Could I borrow a charger, please?"
“Of course, just a moment."
Bethany felt a slight relief, thinking she might not have been harmed.
