Chapter: 460
Jonathan caught the driver's eye in the rearview mirror and gave a curt nod. "Very well."

He needed to brief the driver on what to say to Bethany to avoid any potential slip-ups.

The driver, realizing he was in a luxury car with Jonathan, felt a mix of bewilderment and understanding.

“So you're a successful businessman. No wonder you asked me to hit that beautiful woman's car."

Brody, unaware of the events in Westsilver, held his breath, eager to catch the gossip.

Jonathan's lips twitched slightly. “Let me explain what you need to say to the person you're about to meet."

“No problem!" The driver, having witnessed Jonathan's affluence multiple times, was now as docile as a lamb. “Whatever you need me to do, I'll do it! Mr. Bates, here is the thing. Although you've already given me a lot, my daughter is ill..."

"How much do you need?" Jonathan interrupted, lacking the time for a lengthy explanation. It was always about money in the end.

"The surgery costs ten thousand, and the follow-up treatments are uncertain, so I've been driving day and night to earn money."

Jonathan glanced at Brody, who was driving. “Give him fifty thousand later."

The driver immediately protested, waving his hand frantically.

“That's too much! I don't need that much. Ten thousand is enough. I'll do whatever you ask!"

"This fifty thousand is for your time. I don't know how long I'll need you."

Jonathan wasn't sure how long he and Bethany would remain entangled or how long it would take him to finally move on. He needed the driver on standby, ready at a moment's notice.

"I'm at your service for the rest of my life. Mr. Bates, just call, and I'll be there!" the driver vowed, his voice brimming with gratitude.

Jonathan briefly recounted the events, carefully omitting the intimate details, ensuring the driver believed that nothing had transpired between them. This way, there was no risk of any slip-ups.

Finally, the driver asked cautiously, "Mr. Bates, is it still the same girl as last time?"

"Yes,"

"You really treat her well! Did you fail to win her heart?" Gossip was a universal instinct, and the driver was no exception.

Up front, Brody dared not speak, waiting for Jonathan's response.

After a long pause, Jonathan said in a voice laden with sorrow, “Yes. She doesn't love me."

After leaving Bethany's room, Ryan didn't actually depart from Brokdon. Instead, he checked into another room in the same hotel.

The more he pondered over the situation with Owlimited Company, the stranger it seemed. After much reflection, he decided to call Nikolas.

Nikolas didn't pick up the first time Ryan called.
