Chapter: 473
Unbeknownst to Bethany, two figures observed her from a distance in the airport lounge.

Noticing her distress, “Mr. Bates, how about I call Bethany? We used to get along well; she won't just ignore my call.”

"She'll know I'm behind it."

Bethany knew how close Brody and Jonathan were. If Brody called, she'd realize Jonathan also knew.

"Should I have someone from Goldwald Company check on it?"

“Ryan's people won't tell me," Jonathan retorted.

Ryan was a rival for her affections.

Mostly, Jonathan wanted to keep his distance from Bethany, preferring not to let her know that he was keeping an eye on her.

Now, she seemed determined to keep him at arm's length; if she found out, she'd only pull away more.

“But she looks so worried! She can't even stay seated, and we have no idea who might have run off from home."

“It's likely a child," Jonathan said calmly, recalling Brody's past mention of Aimee's daughter.

Given Bethany's close ties with Aimee, the disappearance of her daughter would naturally leave Bethany distraught.

"Should we send someone to assist in searching for the child?"

"Let's hold off for now; we should follow her and see what unfolds."

If the child just went to an amusement park or something, initiating a large-scale search would draw too much attention.

They could step in when Bethany couldn't find the child.

A child couldn't run very far, after all.

Brody nodded in agreement. "Alright."

Within the legal department of Bates Group, Maddie hadn't seen Jonathan in two days. As a dedicated workaholic, he rarely spent time in the office, and there hadn't been any recent projects that required him to travel. Where could he possibly be?

The more she pondered this, the more uneasy she became. A nagging fear crossed her mind. What if Jonathan was with a woman?

Maddie tried reaching Jonathan multiple times, but there was no response.

Ultimately, she had to turn to Nikolas for help.

It was the quickest way to learn where Jonathan was.

After two calls, Nikolas finally picked up.
