Chapter: 476
She was determined to have Andrew gather information about Bethany's child.
At the airport, it was finally time for Bethany to board.
She hurried onto the plane and settled in her seat before calling Jayson.
"I'm about to take off. You won't be able to reach me while my phone is off during the flight. But if you find Rowan, please text me. I want to know as soon as I land."
"Okay. I've already alerted the local police and they're conducting a thorough search!"
“Thank you."
Jayson's voice carried a tone of remorse. “Oh, don't mention it. I feel terrible not being able to keep an eye on Rowan. I'm truly sorry!"
“Don't blame yourself. Rowan running away isn't your fault. I know how much you care for him." Bethany had never questioned it.
Jayson and Aimee were like Nola and Rowan's parents, far more fitting in the role than Bethany ever was. If there was any blame, it fell squarely on her shoulders.
It was her own lack of attention, her failure to devote time to them, that had led to Rowan's sudden disappearance.
“Bethany, don't worry. I'll move heaven and earth to find Rowan!"
Jayson promised.
Bethany had no reason to doubt Jayson's determination, but her guilt gnawed at her relentlessly.
After ending the call, she clung to her phone, unwilling to let go of the last thread of hope. As the plane ascended and her phone lost signal, she scanned it one final time. Nothing. No word of Rowan.
All she could do now was cross her fingers for good news when she landed.
“Hello, Miss Holt. Congratulations! You've won our airline's upgrade service. You can now move to first class."
A stewardess in a crisp uniform approached Bethany, a smile lighting up her face.
Bethany blinked in surprise. "I didn't enter any lottery."
“We randomly selected from the tickets."
Bethany hesitated, her eyes darting towards the front of the plane.
"Is there internet access in first class?"
"Yes, of course."
"Okay, thank you."
She hurriedly followed the stewardess to first class, the small plane offering only four seats in this exclusive section.
