Then, Nikolas ended the call abruptly. Despite Maddie's repeated calls, he didn't pick up.

Rowan glanced at Nikolas while eating crab. "Is she your girlfriend?"

Bethany and Aimee were looking at international flight tickets when Jayson called suddenly.

"I've just discovered that Rowan really did come back!" he said.

Bethany's heart nearly stopped. "Where did he arrive?"

"Qdonset." Jayson's voice was grave, as he suspected something.

Bethany realized something, too. "I'm heading to Odonset to find him now!"

"I also bought a ticket to go home. I'll be boarding my plane soon."

Jayson paused before suggesting, "Maybe maybe Aimee could go to Odonset to find Rowan. If we can reach Rowan before Jonathan finds out everything, it might all work out. Aimee and I can bring him back."

After all, Odonset was Jonathan's territory. And many people knew Bethany there.

If Rowan were spotted and Bethany was there too, the secrets would come to light.

"Jayson, I'm feeling anxious..." Bethany murmured.

"I understand your worries! But do we want to escalate things? Listen, stay safe at home with Nola. Aimee and I will handle finding Rowan. He's been close to me for a long time and trusts me deeply. I'll soothe him when we meet."

Bethany pondered for a long time before she consented.
