Chapter: 532
Then why did she feel entitled to this anguish now?

Bethany didn't know how she made it back to the hotel, her steps mechanical, her mind numb.

Jayson, restless and awake throughout the night, caught the sound of footsteps and opened the door, only to find her disoriented and dejected.

“Bethany, what happened to you?"

Startled, Bethany looked up, her eyes swollen from tears, casting a shiver through him. “Jayson, he's started over."

“What exactly did you see?" Jayson moved quickly to steady her as she nearly collapsed.

"He's moved on. I should feel happy for him, shouldn't I?"

Jayson's expression hardened slightly. "Tell me, what did you see?"

“Jayson, should I be blessing his new life instead of wallowing in misery?"

"Did you see him with another woman?" It wasn't hard for Jayson to piece things together.

Bethany lowered her head. “They must be deep in love.”

“Bethany, he's just a man. He needs someone by his side", Jayson said, unsure of how to continue comforting her.

Was he not enduring the same heartache day and night?

Watching Bethany so upset and in tears, how was he any different?

“I'm fine. I just need a good night's sleep," Bethany said, opening her room door to enter.

Jayson couldn't rest assured. Worried she might harm herself, he reached out and held her arm.

“Bethany, would you like a drink?"

Bethany didn't respond.

"There's this fantastic restaurant in Odonset. It's really delicious. I haven't eaten all day. Are you hungry? Come with me, let's have something to eat!"

Bethany wasn't in the mood for food. She lowered her eyelashes.

“Jayson, I..."

“Please, consider it a favor to me! Let's go," Jayson encouraged with a smile. "Didn't they say there's nothing a good meal can't solve? If there is, then we'll just have two meals!"

As Bethany remained silent, Jayson played his final card.

"You know, I've got this stomach issue. The doctor told me it's bad to skip meals."
