Chapter: 533
With that revelation, what could Bethany really object to?

Although she was aware these were just excuses, Jayson's intention was to encourage her to leave her room and not isolate herself.

“Thanks, Jayson."

“I should be the one thanking you for gracing me with your company at dinner. Let's go."

By the time evening fell, the outside world had quieted down.

Inside, the room, which had been engulfed in darkness, suddenly burst into Light.

Nola, jolted from her sleep, rubbed her eyes to see her brother seated at the table, engrossed in his task.

Stretching her arms, she slipped into her slippers and approached him.

“Rowan, what are you up to?"

Rowan looked up briefly and let out a sigh. “Oh, I almost forgot you were here! I'm just sending some data to my teacher."

He gestured for Nola to come closer and take a look at his work, but all she saw was a confusing array of numbers and graphs.

“Who's your teacher?" she inquired curiously.

“My teacher is incredible!" Rowan's eyes sparkled at the mention of his teacher. "He's the top hacker around. There's no one better!"

"Wow!" Nola clapped, her eyes wide with awe. "Can I meet him?"

"No, he doesn't meet with people." Rowan kept his focus elsewhere.

Nola, now wide awake, pulled up a chair and sat next to him.

With her brother by her side, the last thing she wanted was to fall asleep, clinging to his clothes as if fearing he might vanish.

“Why are you here all of a sudden, Rowan?"

Rowan paused, a sly smirk crossing his face. “Came to track down our jerk dad."

“Jerk dad?"

“The guy who fathered us and then abandoned us!"

Nola puzzled over the term. She struggled with understanding what “jerk dad" meant, but it didn't change her attitude towards their foe.

"If you don't like someone, then I don't Like them either."

“Hey, Nola, have you ever seen him?" Rowan suddenly asked, turning to face her.
