Chapter: 576
“Exactly. I can't Leave you."
“Alright then," Bethany conceded. "You can stay, but there's a condition. You have to go on the blind dates your family sets up."
Jayson frowned. "Did my parents talk to you?"
Bethany shook her head. "No, they didn't. But Jayson, you need to start your own family. You can't just focus on me all the time. It's too much pressure!"
Jayson's lips quivered slightly. “Do you really want me to start going on these blind dates?"
Bethany's eyes locked onto Jayson's, her gaze steady and intense.
"Yes."
Jayson stepped back with a bitter grin. “Alright. I'll go on blind dates, just as you want.”
After a tiring day at the office, Jonathan departed as soon as the clock signaled the end of his shift, making his way back to East Shade Bay.
On his drive home, he made a quick stop at the supermarket to gather some fresh vegetables and fruits.
Parking his car in the neighborhood, Jonathan's heart warmed at the sight of the living room light glowing, prompting a smile.
The thought of his little boy waiting for him at home every day brought him immense comfort.
He had minimized his workload at the office, preferring to bring tasks home if unavoidable rather than working late.
He was determined to spend as much time as possible with his son.
Opening the door, Jonathan found the little boy absorbed in his laptop on the sofa.
Rowan had grown confident, no longer shying away from Jonathan and boldly experimenting with Jonathan's laptop.
However, he hadn't succeeded in hacking into it just yet.
"What would you like for dinner? I'll cook it for you."
Hearing Jonathan, Rowan set aside the Laptop and shuffled to the door in his slippers, his big eyes blinking up at him. “Anything is fine! Did you visit the hospital today? Is Nikolas feeling better?"
Mentioning Nikolas made Jonathan take a deep breath. He set the groceries aside and bent down to embrace Rowan.
"Nikolas is asleep. Once the doctor I arranged for him arrives, he should be fine."
“Is it serious?"
"In a way, yes." Jonathan didn't want to hide the truth from Rowan.
Jonathan believed that honesty was vital to building a genuine connection with his son. He couldn't afford to lie. Even when persuading Rowan, he maintained his honesty.
