Chapter: 619
Now, destiny even gifted him with two children. Jonathan was indeed happy, yet he started to feel anxious.
Having so much suddenly made him cautious, thinking through every action, worried about potential regrets.
When Bethany entered the villa, she was immediately struck by a musty odor.
It was clear that the place had been unoccupied for a long while, with a thick layer of dust covering the hall's chandelier.
She looked around with a frown, uncertain where to find the elusive hacker.
"Hey!" a youthful voice called out from behind her.
Bethany spun around and saw a boy in a black hoodie lounging on the sofa by the window, giving her a stern look.
“Are you B7?"
"Are you the one Bates Group's CEQ asked me to meet?" Instead of responding to her question, the boy posed one of his own.
Bethany nodded and said, "Yes, that's me."
The boy was seated near the window, with sunlight streaming in, making it difficult for her to see his face.
“Speak quickly." His impatience was clear as he continued to type on his keyboard while talking.
Bethany paused before asking, "Can you ensure my request remains a secret from everyone, including Jonathan Bates?"
“I don't engage in murder, and I don't have time for idle talk."
“I'll take that as a yes." Bethany pulled a damaged surveillance hard drive from her bag. “I need this recovered."
The boy finally looked up at her and then stood.
When he was seated, Bethany hadn't noticed his height. But once he stood up, he towered a full head above her.
B7 stepped away from the direct sunlight, allowing Bethany to see his face clearly.
He was a very tall and skinny young man. His clothes hung loosely on his slim figure, and he tended to slump a bit, which gave him a somewhat rebellious air.
He looked quite different from the top hacker Bethany had pictured.
Disregarding her stare, B7 took the hard drive and inspected it, his brow furrowing. “This device is quite outdated."
“Yes, it's nearly five years old."
B7 glanced at her, reached into his hoodie pocket, pulled out a piece of gum, and chewed it briefly before quirking an eyebrow.
"Let's discuss the price."
