Chapter: 625
With a swift motion, Maddie struck Bethany across the face, leaving a vivid red mark and sending her crashing to the floor.

“Don't try to stand on moral high ground and judge me! Are you any better? You got involved with Jonathan for money. Don't act noble; you just sold yourself. You are as cheap as your mother."

Bethany tasted blood in her mouth. She defiantly spat it out and looked up at Maddie.

"I know you despise me and my mother. Now, she's dead because of you, and I'm at your mercy. Let Aimee and Nola go, and you can do what you wish with me!"

“Oh?" Maddie's eyebrow arched, her lips curving into a malicious smile. “You think I would let you off that easily?"

“Release them, and I'm at your disposal!"

Maddie absentmindedly toyed with her nails, then her eyes lit up with a wicked idea.

“Alright! I hold two lives in my hands. Agree to two terms, and for each you fulfill, I'll release one of them. Deal?"

“What are the terms?"

“I want you to entertain several men at once, and you must appear to enjoy it, luring them with your charm. Once they've had their way, I'll let Aimee go."

The thought of Bethany being raped by a group of men filled Maddie with excitement. She fantasized about recording it and showing it to Jonathan.

Imagine his reaction to seeing his beloved woman with other men!

“We're half-siblings. Do you really take pleasure in humiliating me like this?" Bethany was stalling for time, uncertain if anyone would come to rescue her.

She couldn't count on Jonathan to rescue her. He was clueless about her plight. The last time they spoke, she had told him to keep out of her affairs. He was likely still at work, maybe in a meeting. Her only hope was that Jayson would locate her soon.

"Now you recall our family ties? Bethany, didn't I plead with you? I asked you to leave Jonathan, to set him free. You could have chosen another man. And what did you do? You married him and had his child!" Maddie's resentment surged. She wanted to rip Bethany to shreds.

Bethany hadn't done nearly as much for the Bates family as Maddie had, yet she ended up with Jonathan.

How could Maddie possibly be satisfied?

"I did it to afford my mother's medical care." Bethany was telling the truth.

Had it not been for that mistaken text message, she never would have gotten entangled with Jonathan. During her time at Ensson Corporation, she had seen Jonathan at company events but never dared to approach him.

In her view, Jonathan was out of her league. He seemed like a figure of perfection, while she was just struggling to get by, juggling her job and hospital visits, never even hoping he would notice her.

To Bethany, it all felt surreal.

Additionally, had she known who Maddie was from the beginning and known Maddie's feelings for Jonathan, she likely would have steered clear of him from the start.

Bethany was the type to avoid confrontation, always steering clear of anything that could disrupt her peace.

“Hah, you expect me to believe that? Bethany, you're just as deceitful as your mother! Always acting like you're so virtuous to hide your real motives! Your mother wouldn't divorce Dad, keeping my mother as the other woman forever, but Dad only loves my mom and never cared for you. It was your mother who blocked true love!"
