Chapter: 624
"Alright, you can Leave."

After the brief exchange, Bethany was handed off to another person and led deeper inside.

"Where's my child? I want to see her!"

Blindfolded, her anxiety surged, yet her thoughts remained fixed on her daughter's well-being.

She had barely voiced her demand when the click of high heels neared, followed by a sharp pain as something struck her knee. Bethany fell to the floor, crying out in pain.

"Aha"

“Bethany, you're finally in my hands!"

This voice... It was unmistakably Maddie's.

It was her.

Bethany felt no surprise.

The agony in her knee turned her face ashen, beads of sweat forming on her brow. Clenching her teeth and digging her nails into her palms, she managed to say, “You can do whatever you want to me, but let Aimee and my daughter go! They have done nothing wrong!"

“Let them go?" Maddie laughed. "Oh, my dear sister, do you really believe any of you are leaving here today?"

"That's Jonathan's child!"

"ALL the more reason she should not survive!" Maddie's voice escalated to nearly a shout. “You promised me! You said you'd Leave Jonathan for good, that you'd vanish! Yet, here you are, back again, brought a child into it! Bethany, you thought you could keep her hidden, but I uncovered the truth, didn't I?"

Bethany couldn't fathom how Maddie had learned of Nola's identity.

The secret was supposed to be safe with Jayson and Aimee.

Then it hit her.

“Ryan told you?"

"Yes," Maddie confirmed, pulling the black cloth from Bethany's face.

Their eyes locked, and Maddie's expression was one of smug victory.

“Surprised? Ryan came to me."

Bethany was unable to grasp that Ryan, who had always shown interest in her but never involved the child, could betray her like this.

“He's a fool! He came to me looking to collaborate, spilling his biggest secret immediately, revealing that you have Jonathan's daughter!" Maddie's laughter was scornful. "And then the idiot begged me not to harm you or the child. Bethany, can you believe his naivety?"

"It's because not everyone is as cruel as you. Ryan simply couldn't imagine the depths of your ruthlessness!"
