Chapter: 660
The bodyguards glanced between Nikolas and Aimee. After hesitating for a brief moment, they finally opened the door.
Fearing they might change their minds, Aimee darted inside quickly, only to be met with the vast interior of the hospital.
Faced with elevators and staircases to both her left and right, she hesitated, unsure of which way to go.
Trailing behind her and observing her confusion, Nikolas couldn't suppress a smirk.
“What are you laughing at?" Aimee snapped.
"I Laugh when I feel like it," Nikolas retorted with a shrug. As he raised his eyebrows, he accidentally tugged at his wound, causing his smile to falter.
Aimee pointed at the gauze on his head. “Serves you right! Did Maddie do this to you too?"
Nikolas paused and then directed, "Head left!"
He was keen to get rid of Aimee, who, though not the quickest at repartee, had a knack for striking deep.
With a triumphant smile, Aimee turned left and muttered under her breath, “How many patients can the Bates family have to need such a large private hospital?"
What a waste of money!
Just then, Bethany emerged from the ICU and noticed Aimee heading upstairs. Her eyes initially brightened with joy, then dimmed with guilt.
“Sorry... I let you and Jayson down.”
Aimee waved her hand dismissively. "Don't worry about it! I'm just glad to see you're livelier than when you were in Odonset! Did you see Jonathan?"
Bethany nodded. "Yes, he hasn't woken up yet."
"Then..."
“But he's out of danger!"
Aimee nodded, relieved. "That's good to hear. But how did you get in? I was stopped by the guards just now."
"It was Jonathan's father who let me in," Bethany said, choosing not to mention their deal.
If she revealed the details, Aimee's fiery temperament would Likely lead her to confront the Bates family.
Bethany knew how much Aimee and Jayson loved their children. She feared they would be disappointed in her for agreeing to the deal.
But given her desire to see Jonathan, she had no other option when dealing with the Bates family.
"Are they so kind? I don't think so!" Aimee squatted down in front of Bethany's wheelchair. "How are you feeling?"
"I'm alright. Now that I've seen Jonathan, I feel at ease."
