Chapter: 670
If Aimee were in Bethany's shoes, she would have made sure the truth was known.

She would never let anyone degrade her.

“Aimee, you still don't understand much about how society works. Money and power can change everything. In the end, they might even claim I'm the illegitimate one," Bethany said with a wry smile.

Aimee felt a surge of indignation. “Then there's no justice!"

"No." Bethany sighed deeply.

She was aware of how difficult it would be to sue Jonathan's mother for attempted murder and take on the Bates family. The path ahead was fraught with obstacles and uncertainties.

Bethany was determined to uncover the truth, even if it put her own life at risk. She refused to let those responsible for her mother's death escape justice.

After their conversation, Bethany and Aimee decided to take a walk outside. They didn't head back upstairs until Nikolas went downstairs to look for them.

“Jonathan asked me to look after her. Don't worry," Nikolas assured Bethany.

Hearing this, Aimee scowled. "I don't need you to look after me. I can find a hotel by myself!"

"Listen to me. Do you understand?" he shot back.

As the tension between them escalated, Bethany interjected, "Aimee, look! You're not familiar with this place. Listen to Nikolas. Since Jonathan trusts him, you'll be safe with him."

"I don't care about that! I just can't stand him!" Aimee stepped away from Nikolas. She vividly remembered how badly Nikolas had been to Bethany.

No amount of cursing could fully express her disdain for him.

“Bethany will go back to Jonathan. If you don't go with me, I'm leaving." Nikolas, never one to pander for approval, made his intentions clear.

It was only then that Aimee realized she might be causing Bethany unnecessary stress, so she quickly said, "I'll go with you."

Bethany couldn't help but be amused by their squabble.

As she watched them leave from the hospital, a sense of relief washed over her. She maneuvered her wheelchair towards the ward where Jonathan was.

When she reached the door, she bumped into Samira, the female doctor.

“Miss Holt, I've been looking for you. Mr. Bates asked me to examine your legs."

"I'm perfectly fine," Bethany reassured Samira, though she knew Jonathan would worry about her. She whispered, “If he asks, please tell him I'm doing great. I don't want him to worry."

Samira's face lit up, dimples dancing on her cheeks like a college freshman's.

“You two are quite the duo; he asked me to say the same thing about him."

Bethany's voice quivered with anxiety. "Is his condition worse than he's letting on? Is he hiding something from me?"
