Chapter: 672
Once there, Samira carefully examined Bethany's wounds, disinfected the surgical incision, and applied a medicine she had developed herself.

"Make sure to apply this daily. It's very effective for reducing pain and inflammation," Samira advised. "Actually, just come to me every day. I'll apply it for you. This way, you won't forget or neglect your health."

"That would be too much trouble for you. I can handle it myself,"

Bethany assured Samira, not wanting to trouble the doctor further.

“It's fine! I'm a doctor, and this is part of my job." Samira stood up. "I'll take you back to Jonathan's ward now."

Bethany nodded in agreement. "Okay."

By the time Bethany returned, night had fallen.

As soon as she entered the room, the comforting aroma of food filled the ward.

Hearing the door, Jonathan called out tentatively, “Bethany?”

“It's me."

Jonathan could only lie on his back, unable to move freely or see who was entering.

Bethany approached his bed and gently touched his forehead to check for a fever. “Are you hungry? Let me feed you."

"I can't have those. They're for you." Jonathan looked at her with eyes full of concern. "You've been busy all day, worried about whether Aimee has eaten, yet you haven't had a thing yourself."

“Well, it's because I'm not hungry," Bethany replied with a smile.

“You need to eat, even if you're not hungry. Remember, you have a stomach issue."

He always paid attention to every little detail about her, no matter how small.

Bethany glanced at the table laden with her favorite dishes and felt a tightness in her throat.

She fought hard to keep her emotions in check. Just as she felt the tears threatening to spill, she quickly turned away and wiped them discreetly, avoiding Jonathan's gaze.

“What's wrong? Is there anything you don't like?" Jonathan asked worriedly when he noticed she hadn't started eating.

Bethany shook her head. “It's not that."

“Don't worry. There's no garlic in any of the dishes. I made sure they knew."

Bethany remained silent, overwhelmed by emotions.

Jonathan didn't realize that his attentiveness only made her feel more indebted. To her, his care seemed to highlight her shortcomings.

“Have some." Jonathan reached out to touch Bethany's shoulder.
