Chapter: 68
Stepping off the plane, they were greeted by the CEO of SNS, who had personally come to the airport. Local reporters were also present, eager to snap photos.

As Bethany noticed the cameras, she instinctively stepped behind Brody to avoid being seen.

“Mr. Bates, thank you for making the trip."

“Brokdon is my hometown. It's my duty to support its development,"

Jonathan responded modestly.

The media snapped a flurry of photos of Jonathan. Meanwhile, Bethany discreetly pulled out her phone and captured an image of him from behind.

He was clad in a light-colored windbreaker over a dark blue suit, lending him a tall and distinguished appearance. Standing there, he seemed like a celebrity, poised for a magazine cover. Despite his simple attire, he radiated a noble air. Each of his movements was marked by gentlemanly grace and restraint.

This man had always been a leader, whether in his school days or in the professional world. It was as if he was destined to be set apart, looking down on the ordinary crowd.

As Jonathan was surrounded by a group of people and headed for the car, Bethany quickly grabbed her laptop and prepared to follow Brody.

Just as she was about to step in, she heard Jonathan's voice.

“Bethany, come ride with me."

Bethany was taken aback.

Jonathan's invitation caused everyone to turn their gaze towards her.

To avoid suspicion, Bethany approached with a smile, portraying herself as Jonathan's assistant. "Okay, Mr. Bates!"

She entered the car, feeling a wave of relief wash over her.

Noticing that Jonathan was awake, Bethany said in a hushed tone, "If you keep calling out my name in public like that, people are going to start noticing me!"

She was puzzled as to why Jonathan would highlight her presence so openly. Could this not potentially harm his public image?

"Are you that uncomfortable with attention?" Jonathan inquired.

Bethany clarified, “I'm not shy. I'm just worried that people might start questioning our relationship."

Jonathan had kept his personal Life out of the spotlight since he entered his business career. The only whispers that ever surfaced were about him and Maddie.

Now, with him on a business trip, rumors of him bringing a female assistant and showing familiarity could stir unnecessary speculation.

She thought it would be wiser to stay with Brody. That way, she wouldn't be too far from Jonathan, nor would she get lost in Brokdon.

“People speculating about our relationship isn't something to worry about," Jonathan said confidently.

Their relationship wasn't public knowledge yet, but their marriage was legally valid. There was nothing to fear.
