Chapter: 70
It truly was a small world!
Before arriving, Bethany had considered encountering her father but hadn't expected it to happen so quickly.
It now made sense why her father's mistress had recently intensified her efforts to push Bethany's mother towards divorce. It turned out they had returned from abroad.
This was definitely not good news.
"Do you think Stefan wanted to leave SNS because something was wrong with the company?" Brody's question snapped Bethany out of her reverie.
Bethany nodded. "Even without financial backing from Bates Group, SNS is profitable. He wouldn't consider leaving unless he has found a more lucrative opportunity. Pulling out his shares is a significant move."
Those who got involved at the beginning of its development often had deep connections or high expectations for it.
Clearly, Stefan had weighed his options carefully before deciding to disengage.
Furthermore, converting shares to cash wasn't instantaneous, indicating Stefan's firm resolve to depart.
"Then you should investigate Stefan's investments in other companies," suggested Brody.
With a smile, Bethany pulled out her phone and displayed the screen to Brody. “Here's a report on his shareholdings!"
“Bethany, you're impressively resourceful."
Brody, ever the workaholic, continued to peruse documents even as their noodles arrived, barely taking time to eat.
His compliment drew Andrew's attention.
"Bethany?" Andrew exclaimed. "It's really you!" He approached, about to speak further when Bethany quickly stood.
“Brody, I need to handle something. I'll be back in ten minutes," she said.
Brody nodded and said, “Sure, go ahead."
Bethany led the way, with Andrew following.
Once they were sufficiently distant, Andrew's tone was chilly. “Why have you returned to Brokdon?"
“I'm here on business," Bethany responded crisply.
If not for work, she would never have considered returning to this place.
"You still need to work? Didn't you snag a wealthy guy?"
Andrew's words were loud and biting, showing no regard for his daughter's feelings.
"What does that have to do with you?" Bethany retorted sharply. "My mother and I have never asked you for money or taken anything from you. It's best if you stay out of our Lives."
