Chapter: 701
Jonathan was aware of Nikolas’ reputation. Nikolas was not serious about women, and Jonathan wanted to stop him from causing harm to Aimee, which could place Bethany in a tough spot.
"What?" Nikolas was in disbelief. "Out of all the women I've dated, tell me, which one isn't prettier than her?"
"I'm not interested."
"I would rather get back together with one of them than pursue anything with Aimee!"
Jonathan usually ignored Nikolas being a playboy. However, it struck him as odd that Nikolas kept mentioning Aimee negatively yet repeatedly.
"You like her?" Jonathan asked.
"No way! I don't!"
“Then stay away from her. Move to a different hotel. I'll arrange for someone to take care of it." Jonathan paused before adding, “Bethany mentioned that Aimee would be going home soon."
Then she and Nikolas wouldn't cross paths anymore.
Aimee would keep living her life as usual, while Nikolas would continue with his life of indulgence.
"No wonder she suddenly wanted to explore the city. She's leaving."
Nikolas touched his nose. "Well.. I have some matters to attend to. IT need to leave now."
“What's the matter?" Jonathan asked.
“It's the company! My coma lasted so long, and I've been left with a backlog of things to sort out!"
Jonathan didn't challenge his excuse. He simply nodded and said, "Okay."
“Goodbye. I'll drop by tonight if I'm free!"
Nikolas waved as he left.
Covering his wound, Jonathan slowly made his way back to his chair and sat down.
The room had sofas, an extra bed, and even a spare room. All were more comfortable than the chair, but sitting in the chair kept him closest to Bethany.
At that moment, Jonathan was undisturbed. He took out his phone and started addressing some complex issues that Brody couldn't handle. As he did, he occasionally looked over at Bethany.
Unbeknownst to Jonathan, he was smiling the whole time.
The corners of his mouth were nearly frozen, but they still curved upwards.
Brody hadn't sent many documents or materials via the phone. Although each was several pages long, they were fewer than Jonathan had anticipated.
Jonathan could picture just how busy Brody must have been.
