Chapter: 702
“Mr. Bates, have you recovered?" Brody noticed Jonathan was online.

"Yes," Jonathan answered.

"Should I inform Bethany about this? She was crying when she asked me earlier. She wanted to know how you were doing. But I didn't have much information. Also, your father instructed me not to share anything."

Jonathan read Brody's message, then gazed at Bethany, his eyes filled with warmth.

After some time, he replied, "No need. Bethany is here with me now."

He continued, "She's asleep."

"She traveled abroad for you?" Brody was astonished.

“Yes, she came to me this time," Jonathan replied.

To others, it seemed only natural that Bethany would seek out Jonathan after he had saved her.

For Jonathan, however, this was a signal.

It confirmed that he had become significant to Bethany.

This newfound role was immensely important to him. He didn't dare dream of occupying a large space in her heart; he merely hoped to maintain his place without being pushed aside.

Meanwhile, Nikolas found himself pacing back and forth outside Aimee's hotel room, hesitating to knock.

For the first time, he was genuinely torn.

His previous crush on Maddie hadn't stirred such anxiety.

Suddenly, the door swung open on its own.

Nikolas’ head snapped up, and he found himself staring into her eyes, speechless.

"What are you doing here?" Aimee asked. She had just showered, changed her clothes, and was preparing for a walk.

Without access to Nikolas' car, she intended to stay close by to ensure she could find her way back easily.

Yet, there he was, standing right outside her door.

Nikolas stammered, struggling for words.

Aimee, assuming he was there to argue, began to close the door.

Nikolas reacted swiftly, wedging his hand in the doorway.

Undeterred, Aimee pressed his hand with the door, eliciting a sharp cry of pain from him.
