Chapter: 734
Through clenched teeth, Nikolas warned, “If you say another word, then neither of us will sleep. I'll make sure you're too exhausted to leave the bed!"
"How dare you! If I don't consent, you're breaking the law!"
“Let's see if I dare or not!" Nikolas advanced, his towering figure casting a shadow over her as he blocked the light.
The imposing presence of Nikolas was unmistakable.
Considering the circumstances, Aimee thought a small concession might be in order. “Fine, I'll go back to sleep for now. I promise to come find you when I wake up. Can you wait for me here in the room?"
“No way!"
“and what if I insist on leaving?"
Watching her intently, Nikolas narrowed his eyes and grabbed her bathrobe, throwing it into the bathtub too.
"What the hell..." Aimee was taken aback, truly questioning Nikolas' mental state.
No normal person would act like this!
"You're free to leave. I won't stop you; you can go naked."
Stunned and furious, Aimee caught a glimpse of the quilt on the bed from the corner of her eye. She reached out, intending to wrap it around herself and then make her exit.
Her only concern was avoiding being seen naked in the hotel corridor.
From behind her, Nikolas' cold voice cut through. "You weren't planning on using that quilt tonight, were you?"
"Are you out of your mind? Maybe you should check yourself into a psychiatric hospital! Did Maddie mess with your head?" Aimee was livid. “Aren't you supposed to be the playboy type? Why can't you handle this? Do you get so hung up on every woman you've slept?"
Nikolas was silent for a moment.
No, not with anyone but her.
“Listen, I don't want to wake Bethany in the middle of the night. Don't push things too far, or it'll be embarrassing for everyone."
With that, Aimee scanned the room for something to wear.
Her eyes settled on a blue hoodie belonging to Nikolas.
She walked over, slipped it on, and was relieved to find it long enough to cover what was necessary.
Without another word, Aimee slammed the door as she left. The door frame trembled!
Bethany woke up and noticed Aimee's message sent at four in the morning.
“Bethany, please extend my thanks to Jonathan for his kindness. I can't stay in Wesden any longer. As soon as I'm up, I'm purchasing a ticket home. Jayson has piled up tasks for me, and my parents are eager to have me back. Don't bother seeing me off; just look after Jonathan. Remember, I'm behind you, no matter what you decide. Love you!"
