“I told you, don't bother with that anymore. Go clean up."

He knew he had to hold back a bit; or Bethany might not be able to cope.

Quickly adjusting her pajamas, Bethany rushed to the bathroom.

Suddenly, Jonathan called out, "Are you going to take a shower?"

"Yes!"

“How Long will you be?"

After a brief hesitation, Bethany replied, "Twenty minutes!"

Jonathan glanced at the clock and nodded. "Okay."

Twenty minutes would suffice.

When Bethany emerged from the bathroom, she noticed Jonathan wiping his hands with a tissue.

She approached him and inquired, "Did something spill?"

"No," he replied, his handsome face unusually flushed as he avoided her gaze.

Bethany reached out to touch his forehead. “You don't seem to have a fever. Why are you so red?"

Jonathan captured her hand, struggling to contain his feelings. “It's better if you don't touch me right now."

Bethany stood there, at a loss for words.

"Bethany, could you check with Samira when I can shower?"

Bethany nodded. "Okay! I'll be back soon."

After changing her clothes, she stepped out. Approaching Samira's office, she noticed the door was ajar, yet Samira was nowhere to be seen.

Bethany assumed Samira might have stepped out briefly, perhaps to the restroom or to handle something urgent.

Choosing to wait, Bethany remained at the doorway.

Just then, her phone rang.

Expecting Aimee, she was surprised to see an unfamiliar number calling from home.

Concerned about her children, she quickly answered.
