Chapter: 748
"Yes."

Aimee shook her head, her face turning serious. "If my mom knew, she'd be furious!"

The idea of her parents finding out about this was simply unthinkable.

In her parents' eyes, she had never had a boyfriend before.

Nikolas smirked. "Do you have any better excuses?"

She even mentioned fearing her mother's reaction.

Aimee gave an awkward smile and said, “I've said what I needed to. Can you let me go now?"

Nikolas ran his hand through his hair, struggling to find the right words. "If you have something else on your mind, just tell me. I might be open to it."

For instance, she could ask him to be her boyfriend.

Not a fleeting encounter or just a casual friend, but someone she could hold hands with and walk down the street.

"Can I really tell you?" Aimee's eyes widened, her surprise painting her face with vivid astonishment.

Nikolas exhaled a quiet breath of relief. "Of course, go ahead."

"So, I'll say it then?" Aimee asked, her tone brimming with anticipation.

“Why do women always take so long to get to the point?"

Aimee's lips curved into a mischievous grin as she clasped her hands together, her eyes sparkling with a hint of secrecy. "Can you keep last night's events from Jonathan and Bethany? I'd rather they never find out about it."

Nikolas' expression turned grim in an instant. "It's too late."

"What?" Aimee gasped.

Ever since Bethany had received B7's call, she'd been on edge.

She feared the data on the U disk might be irretrievable. Why else would he call and inquire about it?

Jayson had mentioned that B7 generally avoided contact with others, a fact that was evident from his terse tone on the phone.

“What are you thinking about?"

Jonathan had been busy signing a couple of contracts. When he finally looked up, he noticed Bethany staring vacantly out the large window.

Startled by his voice, she turned with a forced smile. "Oh, it's nothing."

Jonathan sensed she was withholding something but chose not to press further.
