Chapter: 762
“Are you really my friend?"

“Nikolas, do you not remember what I asked you back at the hospital?"

There was silence once more from the other end of the Line.

"I'm hanging up now. You're back, so you can return to the office tomorrow and give Brody a break."

With that, Jonathan ended the call. Bethany looked at him with a curious expression. "What did you say to Nikolas?"

"He seems quite taken with Aimee. I asked if he planned to marry her."

Bethany's brow furrowed in disapproval. "Aimee should never marry a playboy like him, even if he proposed. Jonathan chuckled. "He admitted he couldn't marry her. No need to worry."

“But you should stay out of Nikolas and Aimee's business! I know Aimee well. She wouldn't consider a future with Nikolas; otherwise, she would've given him her number."

“Don't worry. Playing Cupid isn't my style."

Bethany sighed, her worry evident. "If Nikolas doesn't intend to marry Aimee, why does he keep pursuing her? I must warn Aimee to be cautious."

Aimee deserved better than a man like Nikolas, who Lived for pleasure and knew nothing of love.

Jonathan caught her hand, his voice serious. "What if I were like Nikolas? Would you..."

“No." Bethany cut him off sharply. “I despise that type of man the most."

Just like Andrew, they lacked any moral backbone, driven by sheer impulse.

To them, love was trivial, the cheapest of commodities. They boasted of their fickleness as if it were a badge of honor, celebrating it as a free-spirited lifestyle.

“Bethany, you're the only one I love, and you always will be."

Jonathan tightened his embrace, sensing Bethany's thoughts drifting to her father again.

Bethany felt the sincerity in his words, but part of her recoiled at the thought of being the sole focus of his affection.

Nikolas grappled with his own revelations.

He didn't expect that the person who called Aimee was her cousin, Jayson.

Recalling Aimee's casual demeanor when she mentioned staying in his place, Nikolas cursed his own jealousy for blinding him to the truth.

He had misinterpreted her ease for intimacy, a mistake that now gnawed at him with regret.

With a new determination, Nikolas scoured his phone for any lead.

A memory struck him; Aimee had once worked at the Ensson Corporation, where Bethany also used to work before being transferred to Bates Group by Jonathan.
