Chapter: 782
"If you're interested, you're welcome to look-or even touch," Nikolas teased, catching her covert glances and leaning in provocatively.

"Want to give it a try?"

"No." Aimee turned around and covered her eyes. “Turn off the light and draw the curtains!"

“There's no rush. I'm going to take a shower first." Nikolas, having slept in his car the previous night, was beginning to feel grimy. He could even make out the faint shadow of a beard growing in.

"Whatever."

"You're hilarious. How would you know it's transparent when you haven't even seen it?"

After his shower, Nikolas felt rejuvenated. He shuffled in his slippers to the sound system, selected a love song, and began to blow-dry his hair.

Aimee watched him, feeling less like a guest there for the night and more like part of a couple sharing their daily life.

“Why are you taking so long?" she asked impatiently.

"Are you in a rush?" Nikolas asked, catching her reflection in the mirror.

Aimee bit her Lip and remained silent.

Just then, her phone buzzed in her bag.

She quickly checked it. Jayson was calling.

Aimee stepped out of the bedroom, walked into the living room, and answered, “Hey, Jayson!"

“Your parents just called me. They said you haven't made it home yet. Didn't I drop you at your door? Didn't you go inside?"

Aimee struggled to find an excuse. “Well, I bumped into a friend, and we ended up having a long chat and dinner. I've been staying with my parents recently, so there's no rush to get back."

“Oh, okay." Jayson was unsuspecting. "Then call your mom so she doesn't worry."

"Okay!"

After ending the call, Aimee considered phoning her mom, but she feared Nikolas might make a noise and expose her. Reflecting on her options, she opted to send a text message instead.

With that resolved, she was just about to return to Nikolas’ bedroom when she heard the villa's front door unlocking.

In the next instant, Nikolas’ parents appeared at the doorway, their gazes fixed on Aimee.

A hush fell over the group.

Nikolas, hearing the commotion, walked out of the bedroom draped in a bath towel and froze.

“Dad, Mom, why didn't you tell me you were coming?"
