Chapter: 783
Kai recovered first, though he remained silent. He gave a serious, displeased cough, turned, and walked away. Gilda stood frozen, unsure of what to do next.

"You went to Wesden, and your father and I usually come and clean for you. Why didn't you let us know you were back?"

Nikolas replied awkwardly, “It was a last-minute decision."

Gilda wasn't in the mood to dwell on that thought just then. She cast a knowing glance at her son and asked, "Nikolas, who is this?"

Nikolas, realizing he could no longer dodge the question, strode over to Aimee, draped an arm around her shoulders, and beamed at Gilda.

“I forgot to introduce her. This is my girlfriend, Aimee!"

Just as Aimee was gearing up to retorted, she caught sight of Gilda and changed her mind. "Yes. I'm his girlfriend."

"You didn't even mention having a girlfriend!" Gilda exclaimed, though her tone softened as she observed Aimee, her initial confusion giving way to a welcoming smile. "So, your name is Aimee, right? What a charming name! You seem like a delightful young woman. It's a relief to meet someone who can keep Nikolas in line!"

With her seasoned instincts, Gilda had guessed what was unfolding even before Nikolas emerged after his shower.

Yet, she awaited confirmation of Aimee's role in Nikolas’ Life.

Was this just a passing fancy, or was she truly his girlfriend?

Aimee felt somewhat overwhelmed, caught off guard by Gilda's enthusiastic handshake.

This wasn't the scenario she had anticipated.

Sensing Aimee's discomfort, Nikolas quickly steered Gilda aside. "Mom, let's chat later, okay?"

“Sure. I'll head out now. You two enjoy your time together!" Gilda agreed, leaving with a knowing smile.

With a loud bang, the front door slammed shut, and Gilda quickly followed her husband outside.

Aimee only allowed herself to relax and shake off Nikolas’ hand after she saw Gilda and Kai inside their car.

“Hey! Where are you heading?" Nikolas asked.

“Home!"

Nikolas was puzzled as to why she still insisted on leaving now that his parents were gone.

Unable to stop her and without any clothes on, Nikolas could only block the door to keep her from leaving. “My parents won't be back."

"I've changed my mind. Forget about the fucking three times. I'm leaving right now!"

Aimee felt that her involvement with Nikolas was deepening too quickly. She knew she needed to escape immediately and couldn't afford to hesitate.

“What's going on? Just wait for me to get dressed and I'll drive you home, okay?"
