Chapter: 792
"You said he's handsome, huh?"
"Yep, very."
Aimee pondered for a moment before asking, "Do you have his photo?"
"Of course!" Her mother jumped up enthusiastically. “I'll grab it from your father. Just a sec!"
Aimee nodded. "Alright, let's see."
It had been years since she had been in a relationship. She cringed at the thought of becoming an old unmarried maid. If there was a nice, well-tempered man who was good in every aspect, she'd be willing to give it a try.
Unlike her friend Bethany, who had been hung up on Jonathan for years, Aimee wasn't pining for anyone. Bethany's heart was still set on Jonathan, which kept her from dating anyone else.
But Aimee was different. She hadn't been in love, mostly because she avoided socializing. Between work and looking after Bethany's daughter, she hardly had time for herself, let alone for men.
Now, considering a blind date was new territory for her. But recent events with Nikolas had shifted her perspective. She still didn't know exactly what she wanted in a man, but now she was certain it wasn't anyone like Nikolas.
The man had the audacity to wait outside her parents' place all night just for sex. It was ridiculous!
Couldn't he find another woman?
Meanwhile, Nikolas was still loitering outside, debating whether to knock on her parents' door.
How long could he wait for her to come down?
But then he thought, if he did knock and her parents answered, what would he even say to them?
What if they asked who he was? What would he say?
That he was the guy their daughter had slept with but refused to acknowledged as her boyfriend?
The thought made him shudder. Aimee's parents would want to kill him if they knew the truth.
He needed a plan. After a few moments of frantic thinking, he dialed the head of the Ensson Corporation.
The line clicked, and a respectful voice answered.
"Mr. Bennett, how can I help you?"
Nikolas took a deep breath. “I need you to do something for me. Bring some gifts and visit Aimee's parents."
The line went silent for a moment. "Mr. Bennett, Aimee resigned from Ensson Corporation years ago."
“I know that. Just do as I say," Nikolas snapped. "Tell them you think highly of her and that she did a great job. Say you want her back. Do I need to spell it out for you?"
"No, sir. My apologies. I understand."
