Chapter: 810
"Brody's just efficient," he replied simply.

She had suspected as much.

Meanwhile, Aimee was drained and got some restful sleep.

Her parents and Jayson headed to the police station to file a report.

Waking up in an unfamiliar room, she was disoriented until she caught sight of the man beside her.

"Nikolas? Why are you here?" she exclaimed, her voice loud enough to wake Nikolas.

Half-asleep and shirtless, Nikolas looked rather disheveled. The satin quilt draped loosely around his waist, showing off his chiseled torso and V-shaped abs, though, thankfully, he was wearing pajama pants.

"What time is it?" he murmured, yawning and stretching. His tousled hair and groggy demeanor made him seem like any other young man reluctant to start his day.

Upon hearing this, Aimee instantly reached for her phone.

What? She discovered nearly a hundred missed calls!

Hurriedly, she threw off the covers, got out of bed, and approached the window to return the calls.

After explaining to each caller, Aimee felt mentally exhausted. She had never concocted so many lies in her entire life.

Aimee told her parents that Nikolas was merely a friend. She admitted to drinking too much the previous night and falling asleep at the hotel.

Once she had finished her explanations, Aimee let out a relieved sigh.

Lifting her gaze, she caught Nikolas staring at her, his eyes filled with hurt.

"If we're just friends, how many ‘just friends’ do you have?" he challenged.

Aimee brushed him off and stood to freshen up.

But Nikolas wasn't ready to let it go. He seized her wrist, pressing, "You haven't clarified things. What's your plan?"

“What more is there to say? Nikolas, do you really think I agreed to be your girlfriend just because I skipped the blind date yesterday?"

Aimee retorted.

Nikolas paused, then asked, "Isn't that the case?"

“Absolutely not!" Aimee snapped back, glaring at him fiercely. "Now, get me new clothes and get the pills."

Aimee couldn't bear the thought of carrying Nikolas' child.

One night had already passed. She wondered if it was still possible to use emergency contraception.
