Her words, though calm, dripped with venom.

Nikolas, usually a gentleman who wouldn't dream of uttering such hurtful words to a woman, found his tongue running wild when it came to Aimee, spewing nonsense like a broken faucet.

"Wait! Let me gather my thoughts." His face, still smarting from the slap and marred by his recent accident, painted a pitiful picture.

Surprisingly, Aimee didn't storm off. She stood her ground, hoping to put this matter to bed once and for all.

Nikolas ran his hand through his hair in frustration and licked his dry Lips.

After a long, soul-searching pause, he slumped back in his chair in utter defeat.

He had held himself back for a week, resisting the urge to call her or visit her apartment, burying himself in work.

Realizing what he was about to confess, he quickly corrected himself.

“So what? Taking those pills made me ill all day, so dizzy I could hardly get out of bed. Should I feel grateful for your ‘special’ treatment?" Aimee's words dripped with sarcasm.

Aimee sighed, knowing Bethany and Jonathan would be back soon, so she decided to cut to the chase.

"You say you want to woo me and even marry me, right?"

"Yes! I'm all in!" Nikolas' face lit up like a beacon.

“Fine, I agree. But you must transfer all your assets to me and sign a prenuptial agreement. If you ever cheat, stay out all night, get too close to other women, contact your exes, or have an affair, you'll divorce me willingly and leave with nothing!"

Nikolas remained silent for quite some time.
