Chapter: 832
Seeing this, Aimee grinned. "Scared now? Just leave me alone."

She shrugged off Nikolas' grip and left the room.

A few steps later, Aimee encountered Bethany and Jonathan approaching.

Bethany caught Aimee's eye and quickly grasped the situation. She glanced at Jonathan and said, "I need to talk to Aimee. Please take the kids inside."

"Do you need my help?"

"Not now. I'll talk to you when we return."

Jonathan nodded in understanding and replied, "Okay."

Bethany took Aimee's hand as she approached. “Are you leaving?"

"Yes, I just can't stay around Nikolas any longer." Aimee's eyes felt dry, but she resisted the urge to cry. Nikolas wasn't worth her tears.

"Let me drive you home." Observing that Aimee preferred not to discuss it further, Bethany didn't force her. “To your parents’ house or Jayson's?"

"Just head inside. You don't need to drive me; I'll take a taxi home. You don't need to waste your time and energy. You must be tired from just getting off the plane." Aimee gave her shoulder a gentle pat and smiled. “Bethany, I'm okay. I just really hate Nikolas. Don't overthink it."

"You two..."

"We just slept together twice. It's hardly a fond memory." Aimee kept smiling, treating the situation lightly as if it were nothing out of the ordinary.

"Alright, then call me if you need anything. And if Nikolas bothers you, let me know."

Aimee shrugged. "I doubt he'll do that."

Nikolas looked taken aback earlier and didn't stop her as she walked away.

He probably thought she was pushing her luck.

But Aimee was being honest. She had no intention of hiding it. When dealing with a playboy like Nikolas, she shouldn't first think about whether she loved him. Instead, she should consider if she could handle being dumped by him.

If Nikolas had agreed immediately, she would have married him without hesitation. She had nothing to lose if he consented. Even if he were unfaithful later, she could divorce him and gain some assets, which was better than ending up with nothing and feeling deceived after years.

“What?” Bethany was puzzled.

Aimee smiled and explained, “Bethany, few men are like Jonathan. He might be one of a kind. Nikolas certainly isn't."

Bethany remained silent for a moment.

“Bye. Get in touch with me tomorrow!"

"Okay."
