Chapter: 840
"I enjoy watching them play." Jonathan's eyes showed no irritation, only joy.

He believed a lively, playful house was what a home should feel Like.

Perfect as it was.

Bethany sensed that Jonathan would be a caring parent.

Now, she was sure of it.

Seeing the toys and playhouse Jonathan had set up for the kids, Bethany was utterly surprised.

Their home was impressively spacious.

It seemed he might even consider adding a roller coaster inside.

"You're really going over the top, Jonathan." Bethany gestured to the mini carousel behind the playhouse. “Rowan doesn't even use this. Only Nola enjoys it."

She thought the carousel was an unnecessary addition indoors.

They could just as well enjoy it at an amusement park.

However, Jonathan had a different view. "That space was just sitting empty, and the equipment was actually quite cheap."

Bethany raised her eyes to his and paused for a moment before exhaling. “Okay, what do you think is expensive?"

"You." Jonathan gently kissed her forehead. “Even with everything I own, I could never afford you."

Bethany was still used to his unexpected romantic comments, yet they significantly lifted the gloom she had felt earlier at Jayson's house.

“Mommy, there are so many candies here." Nola was thrilled and tugged at Bethany's hand.

Bethany followed Nola into a pink room. They walked past toys scattered around like a castle until they reached a princess-themed room Jonathan had carefully put together.

It was clear that he had dedicated a lot of time and effort to this space.

He had even cleared out his own bookshelf to use this larger room instead.

The room sparkled with pink and white decorations, and the bed was elaborately hand-carved with Nola's name etched at the base.

“Jonathan, when did you start getting this bed made?" Bethany asked, assuming it wasn't a quick project.

Jonathan caught up to them and paused, smiling. "I started the day I found out Nola was coming. What? You like this, too?" He then gestured toward the bed. “How about we switch our bed..."

“Forget it," Bethany interrupted, waving her hand dismissively. "I can't picture you sleeping on a bed like this."

That would be just too odd.
