Chapter: 842
"Rowan?"
“Yes. He said he was getting bored, so I let him tinker with the backend of Bates Group's software."
Bethany was shocked. She hadn't expected Jonathan to indulge their son to the extent of letting him experiment with the company's software.
"He's still so young! Make sure he doesn't get you into trouble."
Jonathan didn't respond verbally but sent a digital business card to Bethany through Bates Group's software.
She opened it, which read, Rowan Holt, Network Technology Counselor of Bates Group.
Bethany paused, then asked incredulously, “Are you crazy?"
“Rowan has passed the company's assessment, and his role has been officially approved by HR," Jonathan replied earnestly.
“No matter how much he enjoys computers, you need to be vigilant,"
Bethany protested. “He's still young. Make sure he doesn't cause any issues for Bates Group."
“He's already caused a bit of chaos for the company. It's manageable."
Jonathan didn't mention that Bates Group's software had been down for half a month because of Rowan.
Meanwhile, Jonathan finalized the last contract and forwarded it to Brody. Then he stood, walked over to Bethany, and gently tapped her shoulder. "Don't stress too much. I've got this handled."
He didn't want Bethany to overexert herself.
She carried too much on her mind. It would be healthier if she could express her feelings like others, but Bethany was different. She kept things to herself.
Like now, Jonathan was aware there was something significant Bethany was concealing from him.
This issue wasn't only a threat to Bethany but also something he couldn't resolve. Because she hadn't even tried to seek help from him.
What could it be?
After arriving home, Aimee was exhausted and headed straight for bed.
Her sleep was filled with odd dreams until Henson's knocking woke her up.
Blinking open her eyes, her hand automatically reached for her phone to check the time, only to remember it was broken.
"Aimee?"
Henson was still knocking outside.
Brushing her hair back with her fingers, Aimee called out, "Just a minute!"
