Chapter: 872
"We'll invite you to the wedding. You'd better be there." Nikolas's grin carried a casual arrogance.
Despite this, Zeke knew deep down he couldn't compete.
It wasn't just about looks. Nikolas was undeniably handsome, his eyes long and narrow with an effortless charm that spoke of a carefree spirit, resembling a dashing star, while Zeke was much more plain.
And then there was the issue of status. Zeke had caught a glimpse of Nikolas’ flashy car, not to mention the unmistakable vibe of affluence that surrounded him.
Height-wise, he didn't even measure up to Nikolas.
Realizing the odds were stacked against him, Zeke could only muster a half-hearted promise of goodwill.
"If I can make it, I'll be there."
"Deal!" Nikolas responded, then took Aimee's hand. “I've made my apologies. Let's go. Are we visiting your parents today?"
He was, after all, already prepared to meet her parents.
"No way!" Aimee protested. "I need some time to prepare my parents for this."
Her parents thought she was dating Zeke. If Nikolas visited them now, they would be unable to accept it.
Aimee had to figure out some serious damage control. The whole idea of marrying Nikolas felt Like a bad dream.
“Fine, one day. I'll bring my parents over tomorrow." That was the best Nikolas could offer.
Aimee's jaw dropped. "What's the rush, dude?"
"I'm so jealous of Jonathan. I want a son, Like Rowan, you know? As soon as possible."
After seeing Nola and Rowan, Nikolas was baby fever central. He would probably kidnap one if he could.
The next morning, Bethany and Jonathan were up with the birds.
Their first stop was a local tourist street.
Since it wasn't the weekend, the street was quieter than usual.
People were strolling around in little packs, chatting and laughing.
“Want one?" Jonathan grabbed a cone from a street vendor and returned with an ice cream in hand.
Bethany took it, savoring a bite. “Mm, this is so yummy."
“Let's get Brody to buy more and have them stored in our home in Odonset."
Bethany giggled. "No way."
