Chapter: 878
She vaguely remembered Nikolas mentioning he would bring his parents over.
"No, I didn't, so you can't say I'm rushing you." Nikolas had initially planned to, but reconsidered, realizing it might pressure her into agreeing too quickly. “I'm coming over today to pick out gifts for your parents."
“I haven't even told my parents about Zeke."
Aimee found it odd that her parents hadn't asked about Zeke's injury.
"Don't worry about it. I paid Zeke to tell his parents he just fell and that it had nothing to do with you." Nikolas chuckled. "Don't worry, your parents won't find out what really happened. Even if they learn he was injured, they'll just assume he was being careless."
"Really? Resorting to your wealth again?"
“Why not? Isn't that what money's for? Solving problems?"
Aimee bit her Lip.
He had a point. In short, at least her parents wouldn't blame her, allowing her to breathe a sigh of relief. Otherwise, she would need to concoct an excuse to preserve their relationship.
"So, how much did you give Zeke?" she asked.
"One million," Nikolas replied honestly.
"You gave Zeke a million for hitting him?" Aimee stood up quickly and inadvertently hit her head on the wardrobe. Clutching her head, she winced.
Concerned, Nikolas asked, "What's wrong? Do you think it's not enough?"
"No." Aimee chuckled, checking her reflection in the mirror for any bumps. "Nikolas, you can hit me every day if it means getting a million each time."
Nikolas was at a loss for words.
He waited outside Aimee's house, and soon she appeared, donned in a pink dress with a coat draped over her arm.
The pink hue gave her the youthful look of a high school student.
Nikolas raised an eyebrow at her appearance.
Why did he find pink be so irritating?
As Aimee approached, she instinctively glanced at the back seat of his car, which was empty.
Nikolas had said he came alone and he meant it-no gifts in tow.
With a mischievous grin, Nikolas wrapped an arm around Aimee's waist.
“Looking for something?"
“Nothin, ." She blushed, stepping back slightly. "Can you not touch me, please?"
