Chapter: 891

He didn't reach out to Aimee but called Bethany.

Upon seeing Jayson's name on her phone, Bethany instantly stood up and excused herself from the table. Worried that something urgent had come up on B7's end, she couldn't take the call in front of Jonathan.

She only answered the call once she was outside the restaurant.

"Hi, Jayson."

“Aimee's parents called me. They said she had a boyfriend and that they had met his parents. Did you know about this?"

So that was the issue he wanted to ask about.

“I know." And they were currently dining together.

"Who is this guy? I heard he seems quite the flirt and not very trustworthy. Aimee's parents are worried she could be taken advantage of, so they asked me to look into it."

Bethany looked up and massaged her forehead, unsure how to portray Nikolas.

If she spoke too highly of him, what if he hurt Aimee later? Praise for him might imply she endorsed their relationship.

However, criticizing him could lead Jayson to pressure Aimee to end things with Nikolas.

After a brief pause, she replied cautiously, "He treats Aimee well. Otherwise, she wouldn't be with him."

“But she hasn't shown any signs of being in love, and she hasn't talked to me about it. Isn't that concerning?" Jayson hesitated, then said, “Bethany, be honest, who is Aimee's boyfriend? I know him, right?"

Otherwise, they would not have kept it a secret from him.

“Um... Kind of." But Jayson and Nikolas had never directly clashed.

“What's his name?"

“Nikolas Bennett." Bethany was compelled to reveal it.

After a pause, Jayson's voice grew heavier. "The same Nikolas who joined Maddie in bullying you? That Nikolas?"

Jayson was at a loss for words.

"How could Aimee do this? I'm going to call her."

As he was about to end the call, Bethany quickly interjected, "Jayson, let's put the past behind us. Nikolas... Back then, he was misled into believing Maddie was a friend, so he supported her. I've forgiven that."

“Anyone who sided with Maddie can't be trusted. What have they put you through? Why would Aimee even date someone Like that? I can't accept this."

Then he abruptly ended the call.

It was clear Jayson was furious. He was usually such a gentleman.
