Chapter: 933
"You didn't need to hide that call from me. I never said you couldn't talk to him."

She would have overlooked it if he hadn't brought it up. Now that he had, she felt compelled to demand an explanation.

“Why did you close off the cemetery? Jayson often cleaned my mother's tombstone for me. He's been fulfilling that duty on my behalf.”

"That's your mother, not his. How can he be the one to take care of it?"

Bethany was left without words.

“If someone has to do it, it should be me."

What right did Jayson have to intervene in Bethany's family business?

Bethany didn't want to argue, so she took a deep breath and said softly, “Don't be as stubborn as Nikolas. I'm already struggling enough."

"Don't worry. Your mother's tombstone will always be the cleanest."

Bethany didn't know how to respond.

This wasn't a matter of how clean the tombstone was!

Never mind. She should have known better than to try reasoning with a jealous Jonathan.

The next morning, it was time for Jonathan's stitches to be removed.

Bethany prepared a bath for him because he wouldn't be able to shower for a few days after the stitches were removed to keep the wounds dry.

When Samira entered, Jonathan had just finished his bath. He was dressed in a black silk robe, reclining against the headboard, while Bethany dried his hair.

Honestly, he looked quite handsome.

Even Samira found herself taking extra glances at his features.

“Samira, you're here." Noticing Samira, Bethany put down the hairdryer, stood up, and offered her a chair.

"Yeah." Samira donned disposable medical gloves and started to disinfect the wound.

She suddenly looked up at Bethany and said, “Could you go to my office and fetch a bottle of medicine on my desk? I need it."

“Of course!" Bethany nodded and left immediately.

After she was gone, Samira began to remove the stitches.

It was a precise task, especially given that the wound was large and had been aggravated by Jonathan's movements.

Now, only the two of them were left in the ward.
