Chapter: 935
While Samira knew Jonathan wouldn't marry her, the unrelenting pressure from her family was too much. She hoped Jonathan could help convince their families to drop the marriage arrangement.
“Once I remarry Bethany, he'll naturally abandon the idea."
Jonathan knew too well that arguing with his father was futile.
He reflected on how his parents had tried to push him towards Maddie.
ALL he could do was resist and not comply, though he had no control over his parents' actions.
Samira understood Jonathan's position and nodded. "Then you should remarry as soon as possible, ideally within this month."
Jonathan's lips curled into a small smile at the thought.
He intended to.
When Bethany returned, the discussion between Jonathan and Samira concluded.
The ward was silent once again.
“Samira, is this the right medication?"
Samira confirmed with a nod. "Yes! Sorry for the trouble."
"It's no issue." Bethany smiled, then turned her attention to Jonathan's wound.
As the stitches were removed, some blood seeped out. The Length and severity of the cut saddened her.
Bethany was saddened to see Jonathan injured like that while protecting her.
Observing Bethany's expression, Samira said, “Jonathan cares deeply for you. It would be good for you both to remarry soon."
Bethany was taken aback. She never expected Samira to urge her and Jonathan to remarry.
Forcing a smile, she replied, “We'll think about it once Jonathan recovers."
"He'll be up and about soon, just as soon as those stitches are out. It won't affect you getting married."
Bethany stole a glance at Jonathan instinctively.
Something was off. Why was Samira being so insistent?
They had shared a few casual conversations about her relationship with Jonathan, but they weren't close enough for Samira to play matchmaker .
Jonathan met her gaze with an innocent expression.
He seemed as perplexed as she was, his honest eyes showing no hint of a secret pact with Samira.
