Chapter: 947
Jonathan stepped closer and took her hand. "Then I'll gather the evidence for you, okay?"
It wasn't hard to get a confession out of Maddie, right?
“Will you help me?" Bethany looked into his eyes, recognizing his genuine determination in that moment.
"Of course."
"Then start your investigation."
She reasoned that with only a few days remaining, this should serve as a caution to Jonathan.
He needed to face the truth sooner or later.
Aimee had always appreciated Nikolas' decisiveness.
Just from their pillow talk, she hinted at a willingness to marry him, and by the next day, preparations were already underway by Nikolas' parents.
Seeing how quickly his parents acted, it seemed they were eager to see him married off.
Initially, Henson and Victoria were against it.
The past controversies had left a sour taste with them. But Nikolas charmed them with sweet words and promises that he would always stand by Aimee.
Eventually, the couple agreed, but they insisted on an engagement first, with the wedding to be meticulously planned over time.
They were hesitant to hastily arrange their daughter's wedding.
"Alright, let's start with an engagement!" Nikolas, having succeeded in his goal, agreed cheerfully.
This arrangement meant he would officially be recognized as Aimee's boyfriend, securing his place without worry of rivals.
During their drive to his home, Nikolas‘ phone kept ringing.
Initially, Aimee didn't mind, but the constant ringing eventually irked her. "Why aren't you picking up your phone?"
“It's just friends inviting me out for drinks. Answering them means I'd have to make up excuses. Ignoring it is simpler." Nikolas was clearly in high spirits, even singing along to some tunes while he drove.
Aimee looked over at him and asked, "You haven't been hanging out with friends much lately. Are you sure that's alright?"
"No worries at all! We've got people to handle that at work. Socializing used to be a hobby for me, but now that I'm with you, I've got better things to focus on. No time for outings."
His playful words made Aimee turn red.
“Actually, you don't need to skip it entirely. I'm not overly sensitive! As long as you're not meeting other women, I shouldn't keep you from seeing your friends."
Aimee was not one to feel easily jealous.
