Chapter: 950
Aimee shook off the water from her hands and stood her ground next to her. Though shorter, her presence commanded respect. “If he didn't make things official with you, perhaps you should consider your own flaws! Boasting about being with Nikolas only shows you're past your prime."
The woman was left speechless.
"When Nikolas pursued me, I knew exactly who he was. If you think you can make me jealous, you're wrong.”
It wasn't entirely true that Aimee was unaffected, but it wasn't serious enough to create a spectacle or break up with Nikolas.
Aimee was already exiting the restroom when the woman called out to her.
“Nikolas is just toying with you as well! You'll end up no better than I did! I bet you two won't even make it to marriage!" she shouted loudly, but Aimee didn't pause for a second.
How boring!
The party, including the woman's rant, was utterly draining.
Back in their private room, Nikolas was still fielding questions about their engagement. Upon seeing her return, he quickly embraced Aimee. “Are you upset?"
Nikolas was perceptive, picking up on her mood instantly.
“No, I'm just feeling a little lightheaded from the drinks.”
“Should we head home?"
“sure.”
Nikolas got up, indicating it was time to leave.
His friends burst into laughter. "Nikolas, since when are you so tame?"
“Aimee, make sure you keep him on a short leash! We'd love to see more of him behaving like this!"
Aimee managed a gracious smile and began to Leave.
Nikolas rolled his eyes at his friends. "Cut it out! If my girlfriend gets upset, you're all to blame!"
The room erupted in laughter again.
Outside the restaurant, Nikolas quickly walked up to Aimee and naturally took her hand.
“Are you feeling really unwell? Should we pick up something for your hangover?"
“There's no need. Just standing here in the fresh air is making me feel better," Aimee answered, looking up at him.
The glow from the restaurant's sign illuminated him, accentuating his features even more. His jawline appeared as if it were meticulously sculpted.
He definitely had the charm of a ladies’ man, in every way.
