Chapter: 955
Aimee scoffed, "Would you really have given up all your exes with their stunning figures, voluptuous curves, pretty faces, and queen-like auras?"
Nikolas' two least favorite topics to hear Aimee bring up were his ex-girlfriends and Maddie.
“Can we stop talking about it?"
“You're the one who brought it up."
"Right, my mistake. Let's head to the bathroom." Nikolas offered with a smile.
Aimee brushed him off. “I can manage on my own. I'm not paralyzed."
“You seem quite spirited now. How about..."
“Leave me alone."
Having reached his limit after two days of tension, Godfrey could no longer stay passive.
With the one-month agreement with Bethany nearing its end, it was imperative that his grandchildren change their last names before joining the Bates family, or it would be ridiculous.
When he tried calling Jonathan and got no response, Godfrey decided to send a text.
"Arrange for someone to escort Maddie. Don't tell your mother about this."
Godfrey hadn't discussed this with his wife, believing it would only complicate things further. It seemed wiser to act first and explain later, especially since Maddie was already under his control.
If Jonathan ended up harming Maddie, his wife might be upset and make a scene, but it wouldn't lead to anything significant, Godfrey reasoned.
Upon receiving the message, Jonathan immediately directed Brody to organize people to bring Maddie back.
Jonathan understood that Bethany wanted evidence and to go through the proper legal channels to ensure that Maddie received her just punishment. He was willing to help her achieve that.
"Aimee mentioned that her parents have accepted Nikolas.”
Bethany came back with a big smile on her face, phone in her hand.
It was unusual to see her this happy.
"Does that mean their wedding is soon?" Jonathan asked.
"Perhaps." Bethany nodded, genuinely pleased for Aimee. "She mentioned they plan to have an engagement first and then the wedding, because her parents aren't ready to part with their daughter just yet."
Jonathan reached out and tenderly brushed her hair, saying, “By the time they have their engagement, I should be ready to leave Wesden for good."
Of course, he couldn't miss Nikolas' engagement celebration.
Bethany looked at him, surprised.
