Chapter: 959
B7 chuckled. “Are you sure you wouldn't rather be my girlfriend for a week instead?"

Bethany responded earnestly, "I've gathered the remaining money."

“Just one week, only seven days." B7 disregarded her response. “I promise not to cross any lines.”

Bethany frowned.

She had no interest in discussing any romantic propositions with B7.

"We agreed I'd be your girlfriend for a week only if I failed to pay. Now, I have the money!"

“You're with Jonathan. You think I'm not good enough for you, right?"

Bethany was on the verge of losing her cool, but she knew better than to provoke B7 right now. "I just expect you to keep your promise! We have a deal."

B7 chuckled again. Then he switched to a serious tone, saying, “I've checked your account and confirmed you have the money."

“Then why even ask?"

“Since I have access to your account, I could freeze it or transfer the funds, making it impossible for you to pay me."

Bethany clenched her fists and asked, "What do you really want?"

“I want you to be my girlfriend."

"I don't want to!" Bethany retorted sharply.

Was B7 taking advantage of her situation now?

“Is it because I'm not as good-looking or wealthy as Jonathan?" B7 suddenly changed his attitude.

Bethany retorted, "We shouldn't be talking about this. I hired you to recover data from the USB, and that's the extent of our agreement. I'd prefer we keep this professional."

B7 became serious and his tone returned to normal.

“I've nearly restored the entire surveillance video on the USB, but I must tell you, it won't be enough to take down the Bates family."

“That's for me to worry about."

"But my involvement could change that," B7 said slowly. "The video on the USB isn't complete. If I'm not wrong, there were other USBs, but you don't have them, do you?"

"They've all been destroyed. This is my last shot," Bethany said that with darkened eyes.

She hadn't actually watched the surveillance footage yet, so she was uncertain about its potential in her lawsuit.

"They might be destroyed, but that doesn't mean they can't be restored."
