Chapter: 972
Aimee stuck out her tongue playfully, which made Henson Laugh helplessly. "You're about to get married, yet you're still acting like a kid."

"I am a kid. Mom says no matter how old I get, I'll always be your little girl.”

When Nikolas knocked, their lively conversation was still ongoing inside.

Hearing the knock, Aimee quickly went to open the door.

Nikolas stood there, neatly dressed in his flight suit, filling the doorway with his tall stature, a polite smile on his face that differed from his usual relaxed demeanor.

"Aimee, I'm home."

"Change into some slippers and come eat." Aimee glanced down to fetch Nikolas' slippers, then took his hand and led him inside.

"Nikolas, do you like the dishes?"

At the table, Victoria kept offering the dishes to him.

Nikolas nodded enthusiastically. "They're delicious!"

After dinner, Nikolas and Aimee lingered to watch a couple of episodes of a TV series with her parents. Wanting to ensure Nikolas wasn't late for work the next day, Henson suggested it was time for them to head home.

During the drive back, Aimee, feeling sleepy, nodded off occasionally.

Nikolas drove in silence, focused on the road ahead.

As they arrived at the villa, Aimee opened her eyes, glanced at his profile, and raised her eyebrows playfully. "Your ex-girlfriend took your car today."

Nikolas' grip tightened on the steering wheel. "She's sitting in the back seat."

“Well, no one else can sit in the passenger seat from now on, okay?"

Aimee leaned closer, pouting.

Nikolas turned to her, slightly bewildered. “Are you jealous?"

“To be honest, I'm not jealous, just a bit uncomfortable... Considering how many girlfriends you've had in the past, I understand you have to manage those connections. I considered all this before deciding to be your girlfriend."

"Aimee, I..." Nikolas faltered, his words caught in his throat.

She arched an eyebrow. "Yes?"

"Never mind. Let's head inside."

With that, Nikolas parked the car, quickly exited, and headed towards the villa.

Aimee was puzzled by his behavior.
