Chapter: 971
Siena was left dumbfounded.
She couldn't believe that he would just abandon her here.
This area was too remote from the city, far beyond the reach of any taxi.
"Nikolas, you're even more heartless than I thought."
When Aimee called Nikolas a second time, he picked up.
His voice sounded strained, as though he had been yelling.
"My parents are wondering if you'll be home for dinner?"
“Of course! I'm on my way back right now." Nikolas laughed. “Wait for me."
"Alright. Have you sent her away?" Aimee inquired.
He understood whom she was referring to. "Yes. Don't worry. I."
"I'm not worried, honestly." Aimee chuckled. "I've moved past your history. Don't worry. I won't make a fuss over your ex. However, it would be better if my parents didn't know. They're just starting to see you in a new light."
“Aimee, you're amazing."
Caught off guard by the compliment, Aimee asked, “What's got you so emotional all of a sudden?"
"Nothing."
“Hurry up. Dinner is ready."
"Alright."
After the call, Aimee joined her father who was setting the dishes on the table.
"Where's Nikolas?"
"He's on his way. He mentioned some company issues, so he had to run to Bates Group for some documents."
Henson nodded, not overly concerned. “I just saw that woman approaching him. I assumed.."
“She's just a colleague. Nikolas was trying to avoid her. But she followed him to our place. Can you believe that?"
“That is quite unexpected. Is everything sorted now?"
Aimee nodded. “Yes, don't worry. I'm keeping an eye on him."
“I just don't want you to interfere with his work."
