Jonathan surrendered.

He couldn't hold onto Bethany. Perhaps she was never truly his, to begin with.

"But the video..."

"The video B7 restored is only a portion of the entire footage. He must have asked for something in return before agreeing to give you the full footage, right?"

Bethany nodded silently in agreement.

"In three days, I will give you all the footage," Jonathan said, looking away to hide his feelings. He continued, "That includes Maddie's confession."

Bethany stared at him in surprise.

“Haven't you claimed that you destroyed the video?"

"My mother is not naive. The video that B7 restored comes with a self-destruct timer and viruses that target the restorer's computer. Maddie and she planned this, so by the time you take it to court, the video will have vanished."

At that point, Bethany would be utterly humiliated!

All the evidence would be gone, leaving her with no grounds to file a lawsuit.

Just now, Jonathan had created a backup of the video and then completely erased the original along with the source code. As a result, Rowan's computer, which had been infected with a virus, turned off, and B7's computer experienced the same issue.
