Jonathan's lips moved, and he shifted to the side, gesturing for her to enter first.

Bethany, however, refused to step inside.

“I'm asking you, where is the video from B7?"

Jonathan remained silent.

"Jonathan!"

“It has been destroyed."

Bethany was left speechless.

She stared up at Jonathan in shock. “Say that again!"

"You're planning to use that video to imprison my mother and Maddie, aren't you?" Jonathan's voice was low and rough, quivering slightly.

"Yes!" Since they were being straightforward, Bethany decided to be blunt as well. “I've always suspected your mother was behind my mother's death! Since you've seen the video, you should know."

"What should I know?" Jonathan cut her off sharply. "That while I'm planning our future, you're plotting how to leave me? You've been counting the days, haven't you?"

Bethany fell silent.

“Bethany, have you ever thought about me? Even a Little?"

Bethany's hands trembled as she clenched her fists tightly.

"No, I just want the truth!" Bethany demanded, her teeth clenched.

"Give me the video."

Jonathan closed his eyes, trying to regain his composure.

“I've already told you it's been destroyed."

"No, Jonathan. You can't do that! This is all I have left! Do you want me to die?" Bethany cried out desperately.

She clutched at Jonathan's collar with all her might. She bit him wildly and beat him with her hands.

Jonathan remained still and did not even frown. He simply let Bethany release her anger.

Eventually, Bethany ran out of energy.

"Jonathan.. My mother was innocent. Why did she have to die. It should have been me! Why didn't your mother kill me instead? Jonathan, now that you've destroyed the video, can you destroy me too? I'm so exhausted. I'm truly exhausted!"

Tears streamed down Bethany's cheeks.
