Chapter: 486
Caden looked concerned. “Since when are you so sensitive to pain? I wasn't that harsh."
He scrutinized her face, checking for any injury.
But as he drew closer, Alicia's demeanor shifted from vulnerability to defiance. She grasped his hair and bit into his face.
She lashed out with fury and resentment, her teeth piercing his skin.
Caden cried out in pain.
Alicia released him, her breathing uneven. "Now we're even!"
He had bitten her lip, and she retaliated by biting his face.
Both were injured, an odd balance of pain.
Caden gazed at her, a mix of defiance and dissatisfaction on her face, then suddenly, he seemed to forget his discomfort.
He laughed softly, eyes on her slightly swollen lips.
“That mouth of yours," he mused, his tone turning husky and provocative. “What should I feed it to keep it quiet? Tell me."
Familiar with his provocations, Alicia imagined several scenarios that remained unspoken.
She held her ground, warning him, “Try anything, and I'll bite it off."
"We'll see about that later," Caden replied, his demeanor undaunted and somewhat anticipative.
He released her and started the car.
Alicia clenched her teeth, bracing herself for another ordeal, plotting her escape strategies during the drive.
However, when they reached the apartment building, Caden retrieved a bag from the trunk and pulled out a dark object.
He handed it to her, his voice neutral. “Put this on your lower abdomen. It should help with the cramps."
Alicia looked puzzled. “What is this?"
“A thermos with hot water," he explained.
Taken aback, she inspected it closely.
With conflicted emotions, she looked back at him.
Alicia had just slipped the thermos under her clothes when Caden lifted her out of the car.
As they opened the apartment door, Cade rushed over excitedly, weaving around Caden's legs.
Caden nudged him away gently.
Despite tumbling over, Cade's excitement didn't wane. He kept following them, barking with enthusiasm.
Alicia looked at the eager Cade and felt a twinge of guilt.
She turned to Caden and asked, "Did you feed him today?"
While carrying her to the bedroom, Caden replied, "No."
“Why not?" Alicia's brow furrowed. "It's simple. Just some canned food and milk."
