Chapter: 527
Caden, freshly showered, walked out. His hair was still damp, and his face was expressionless.
“Why are you in my room?" he asked, clearly displeased.
After their arrival in Averibon, they had reserved two suites, with Yolanda's being next door.
Naturally, Yolanda wouldn't confess her true intentions, so she lied, saying, "I noticed something was off and wanted to discuss it with you."
Caden tightened his robe.
He said bluntly, "Whatever it is, it can wait until tomorrow. Go back to your room."
Yolanda pressed her Lips together.
Reflecting on the phone call, she felt certain the caller harbored animosity toward Alicia.
Had something happened to Alicia?
She didn't want Caden to find out, so she delayed him. "It's still early. Let's talk for a while, Caden, otherwise I'll spend the whole night worrying about the project."
Noticing her determination, Caden finally gave in. "I will reserve a cafe. We can have our conversation there."
Yolanda remained silent.
Meanwhile, Caden walked toward the bed.
He noticed his phone was absent from the nightstand.
His expression turned grim. "Did you touch my things?"
Yolanda was taken aback, not expecting him to notice its absence so quickly. She was visibly flustered.
Caden located his phone swiftly and checked the screen.
There was an unread message.
It was a photo sent from an emergency number, and a location was included with it.
The address was on an isolated mountain outside Warrington, showing a blurry image of Alicia's legs and dried blood on the ground.
His heart clenched instantly.
Clearly, something was wrong.
Having only recently returned to the country, his contacts were limited. He hesitated briefly before sending the address to someone he trusted immensely.
He then turned off the phone's screen.
Facing Yolanda, he asked with a composed demeanor, “Why did you handle my phone?"
His question filled Yolanda with fear.
Feeling uneasy, she tried to appear calm and explained, “You were occupied, and I didn't want to miss anything urgent, so I picked up. It turned out to be just an annoying call."
Caden's face was stern.
He had erased Alicia's number, so any incoming call would appear as unknown. However, given that Yolanda had concealed his phone, he was convinced it wasn't a trivial call.
It was Alicia's call for help.
