Chapter: 568
Ever since Caden had come back, it felt like everything was slipping away from him.

Caden was like a hungry wolf, attacking with determination.

Attacking whom?

Jerald recalled an incident from years past. Instantly, his face paled, and he was seized by intense fear.

He grabbed his chest and shouted, "Pill! I need my pill!"

Noticing his condition, Shelia didn't hesitate and quickly got the pill.

She continued, "Jerald, will you help Joshua or not?"

Jerald waited for the pill to take effect, his eyes shut. "If that bastard is bold enough to do this, he must be prepared. Now that I'm clueless about his capabilities, should I act blindly?"

“What are you saying?" Shelia demanded. “Are you just going to let this slide? Do you want to see Joshua dead too?"

Jerald lost his patience. "Calm down, will you? Is this something that can be resolved overnight?"

A flash of anger crossed Shelia's eyes.

She had stood by Jerald for many years and knew him inside out.

He always disappeared when problems arose. He was so self-centered and unreliable.

Shelia clenched her teeth. "Jerald, if you refuse to get involved, fine. I'll protect Joshua. He's my son. If necessary, I'll confront Caden myself, even if it means we both go down!"

Jerald was more than ready for Shelia to leave for Caden.

With a dismissive gesture, he pushed her away. "Then go. Go now! And make sure you take care of Caden today!"

Hearing this, Shelia stared back at him, her face a mask of despair.

She had endured years as a mistress, hoping her long association with Jerald might change him. She was mistaken. A heartless man always stayed cold-hearted.

Men really were the most heartless beings!

A bitter laugh escaped Shelia. "Jerald, you don't even care about your own wife and son. Don't you fear karma?"

Jerald scoffed at the mention of karma.

He retorted harshly, "Karma? Really? How can you even mention that word? When my wife was pregnant with our second child, you forced your way into my life with Joshua. Your actions led to her death during childbirth. If anyone is due for karma, it's you!"

Shelia yelled back, "I'm not why she's dead! You are! You're the one committing all these sins. Don't try to blame me!"

Jerald's eyes narrowed, his face turning even colder.

"You think I killed her? Where's your proof?" he sneered. "You seduced me and used Joshua to blackmail me into a divorce. This tale is old news, everyone knows it. You say I killed her? Who would believe that?"

Tears streamed down Shelia's cheeks.

Jerald threatened further, “If you keep slandering me, I'll make sure you end up in prison, and you'll rot there!"

Shelia's body stiffened, her whole being shaking.

After years of humiliation and suffering, this was the dire situation she found herself in.

She wanted to retaliate, to rip him apart. She knew she could take him down.
