Chapter: 693
Hank was confused. "I always thought Donna was faithful. She and Phil seemed very close. How could she have had an affair?"
Caden responded bluntly, “I've never believed in everlasting Love between couples."
Hank, worried that Caden might think of his past, shifted the topic and asked, "Mr. Ward, what do you plan to do about Shelia?"
Caden looked at his injury.
“With the sulfuric acid being so concentrated, she couldn't have gotten it alone. Have it analyzed and track down where she got it Whether the Yates family or the Green family were involved in assisting Shelia, once confirmed, they would all face consequences together."
Hank soon discovered the truth.
Shelia had exploited Jerald's connections.
Clearly, both Shelia and Jerald harbored intentions of killing Caden.
Caden had grown indifferent to his biological father's cruelty.
Hank, unable to hide his dismay, suggested, “Mr. Ward, should I hire some strong men to handle them?"
It would be ideal to beat them until they were half-dead, leaving them bedridden for the rest of their lives.
Caden glanced at the calendar.
"There's no need, handling Jerald doesn't require any effort on my part."
He then made a phone call to the hospital to arrange what he needed.
Shelia, however, wasn't silent for long and soon stirred up trouble again.
After Caden severely injured one of her hands, she no longer dared to provoke him directly, so she shifted her focus to Alicia.
Using her mental health diagnosis as a shield, she manipulated images of Alicia's face onto adult websites, spreading videos and photos widely.
When Alicia brought the issue to the police, Shelia feigned insanity at the station, striking people at random.
After being held for a few days and warned, Shelia was released yet again.
Once Alicia's public relations team resolved the video scandal, Shelia sought other ways to harass her. She hung around Alicia's home, engaging in disruptive behaviors like vandalizing her property, slashing her car tires, and letting the air out of them.
These were minor annoyances but they significantly inconvenienced Alicia.
Within just a month, she moved three times and switched cars five times.
Reporting Shelia to the police proved ineffective.
Her psychiatric diagnosis served as a protective barrier, akin to a get-out-of—jail-free card.
Alicia's assistant was exasperated. "Ms. Bennett, Mr. Ward is the one Shelia has a grudge against. He should deal with her. Why should we suffer?"
Alicia remained quiet.
When Shelia initially started her harassment, Caden had offered to help, but Alicia declined.
She made it clear she wanted no further involvement with him and requested he leave her alone.
After hearing this repeatedly, Caden also saw little point in persisting.
Even though they hadn't had a major argument, they still parted on bad terms.
