Chapter: 694
Since then, Caden had not interfered, and they both continued with their lives, not crossing paths for over two weeks.
Alicia massaged her temples. "Caden and I just don't mix. Dealing with him is more hassle than handling Shelia."
The disputes before their breakup were a constant irritation for Alicia.
She was easily provoked by any reminder of them.
The assistant felt helpless and said, "What do we do then? We can't let her continue to bully us."
Alicia comforted the assistant, saying, "Don't worry, I've thought of something."
The assistant suggested, "Ms. Bennett, since she smeared feces on your car, should I retaliate by doing the same to her?"
Alicia was at a loss for words.
The thought of her beloved cars being ruined filled her with both heartbreak and disgust.
“Leave it to me, I'll take care of it."
After the assistant departed, Ciara stopped by.
Since the incident, Alicia had ceased her professional dealings with Ciara, who now visited solely as a friend.
"You've been through so much recently," Ciara said with concern. "She hasn't hurt you, has she?"
While Caden stayed out of it, Ciara was eager to assist. However, Alicia managed to resolve matters swiftly on her own before Ciara could step in.
Thus, all Ciara could do was bring some gifts to cheer Alicia up.
Alicia greeted her with a smile, downplaying the situation.
Ciara also had another motive for her visit. “Alicia, don't put up with it any longer. Let's join forces and solve this issue once and for all."
Alicia pursed her Lips.
She did have a strategy in mind, but it wasn't something she was ready to tell to Ciara.
Ciara sensed something and asked, “Alicia, do you have a plan?"
Alicia let out an awkward chuckle and said, "I do, but I'm afraid it might scare you."
Ciara waved her hand with a relaxed grin. "Do not worry about me, Alicia. I am not one to get rattled easily. Raising a troublemaker toughened me up. In fact, I was a troublemaker myself when I was young, so I can handle more than you think."
Alicia blinked in surprise.
Really?
Wait, did Ciara just call herself a troublemaker?
Realizing her words might have come across as overly bold, especially for someone of her age, Ciara cleared her throat, trying to soften the tone. “What I meant is, I am healthy and not easily startled. Say what's on your mind, and let's see if there is anything I can do."
Alicia paused, considering her next words carefully.
Noticing Alicia's reluctance, Ciara leaned forward, her voice gentle but firm. "You do not need to worry, dear. I am not here to play matchmaker for Caden. Trust me, I would not push you into anything."
“Sorry, Alicia. That is not entirely true," Ciara thought to herself.
Despite her serene demeanor and warm smile, Ciara's mind was elsewhere. She was, after all, a sweet old woman-hardly someone Alicia would suspect.
