Chapter: 874
Corey attempted to grab her again, but a car rolled in from outside - it was Alicia's team.

He hesitated and did not advance.

Alicia climbed into the car, her face partially concealed by shadows.

“Forget about him, let's leave."

Hank started the engine and comforted her, “Mr. Ward will return the day after tomorrow. With him here, Corey won't act so boldly."

Alicia was not intimidated by Corey.

She was capable of defending herself, and it was clear that Corey needed her unharmed - he wouldn't harm her easily.

But his precise motives remained a mystery.

Alicia touched her tender eyes. "Why did you come here?"

Hank answered, "I was nearby running errands and thought I'd check on you. I didn't expect to find you here."

Alicia looked over and noticed two personnel files on the passenger seat.

She identified them as mercenaries. "What's going on?" Alicia inquired.

Hank was always transparent with Alicia and shared the truth.

Alicia's thoughts raced. "How is the matter of Mrs. Ward progressing?"

Hank replied, "Corey hasn't made a move yet, so it's difficult to predict."

Alicia knew she could never accept Corey's proposition. She felt adrift, like a piece of wood bobbing uncertainly on water.

For the first time, she deeply missed Caden.

It wasn't just missing him. She realized that he was the only one who could manage the current situation.

Alicia glanced at the mercenary files and formed a plan.

The two mercenaries, now hired as Caden's bodyguards, would travel to Terriland to locate him, where Alicia intended to meet with the mercenaries personally and convince them to include her in their plans.

Caden received a message from Alicia, knowing that she would be in Terriland a few hours later.

It didn't matter to her whether he replied immediately or not.

She was confident of her ability to safely reach his side.

As her plane touched down, dusk had enveloped Terriland. Despite the heat, the beauty was undeniable. The beach at sunset, with trees fading into the distance, seemed to blur her sight.

While riding in the car, Alicia inhaled deeply, comforted by the thought that Caden might have once traveled this same road, easing the turmoil in her heart.

Her two bodyguards were constantly at her side, vigilant and protective.

One of the bodyguards, who had a crew cut, made a call once Caden reached the hotel.

Caden's voice was clear and brief as he said, “Your room is next to mine. Rest up and wait for my call."

Just as the crew-cut bodyguard started to say that Alicia was also present, the call ended suddenly.

He gave Alicia a confused look.
